The North American Lakes Management Society (NALMS) has designated July as Lakes Appreciation Month to recognize the importance of lakes for drinking water, energy production, food production, and for aesthetic and recreational value. Pollution found in stormwater runoff is people pollution. Stormwater runoff carries pollution from everyday human activities.
